Overview
Through treacherous seas and metropolitan avenues, peacoats have been the hallmark of intrepid adventurers across the globe for centuries.
Born aboard wind-lashed naval decks and refined through generations of explorers and officers, its double-breasted silhouette, broad collar, and dense melton wool were engineered for one purpose: enduring protection in harsh conditions.
Dreadnaught carries that legacy forward with a return to heirloom-grade construction. Its fabric is woven by Abraham Moon, one of Britain’s last remaining vertical woolen mills, operating since 1837 and producing melton in the same Yorkshire facility since 1902. Their exceptionally dense 100% Pure New Wool melton—970 g/m²—provides natural wind resistance, warmth, and long-term durability without excess bulk.
Modern capability elevates the classic build. A generous collar and traditional throat latch offer dependable shelter from sudden cold. High-set handwarmer pockets lined in wide-wale corduroy provide instant warmth, while a full cupro lining ensures easy layering over knitwear. Internal pockets are ergonomically arranged for secure, intuitive storage.
Finishing details—trapunto quilting at the collar stand, zigzag undercollar reinforcement, double-needle stitching, and custom TAD anchor buttons—restore the peacoat to its rightful status as a serious tool, not a costume.
Made in the UK and built to last for decades, Dreadnaught honors naval heritage while delivering modern performance. A timeless silhouette - refined, resilient, and ready for those forging their own legends.
