Overview
From the frontier to the fire fight, denim has always earned its place through durability, adaptability, and quiet competence. The Intercept Selvedge Denim Pant continues that lineage, refined through Japanese craftsmanship and reinforced with the covert capability the Intercept platform is known for.
This Selvedge Denim Intercept is constructed from 13oz Indigo Gray selvedge denim by Nihon Menpu, one of Japan’s most respected mills and a cornerstone of authentic selvedge production. Woven on traditional shuttle looms, this fabric delivers a denser, more substantial hand than lighter-weight selvedge, striking a deliberate balance between structure and wearability. The indigo-gray color presents a restrained, low-contrast palette that ages with subtlety, fading gradually into layered highs and lows rather than loud contrast, rewarding long-term use with depth instead of spectacle.
At 13 ounces, this denim is unapologetically capable. It offers the reassuring heft of classic workwear while remaining flexible enough for everyday movement, field use, and extended wear. The tighter weave and clean selvedge edges produce a fabric that resists deformation, breaks in with purpose, and develops a patina that reflects use, not trend.
Built on the Intercept’s proven architecture, this release features a continuous keyhole shank button fly with exposed selvedge, a construction method originally patented in San Francisco in 1877 to reinforce one of the most failure-prone stress points in trousers. Combined with flat-felled seams, triple-needle stitching, and chainstitched structural elements, the result is a pant engineered to outlast seasons, miles, and environments.
True to the Intercept ethos, capability is embedded—not advertised. Ambidextrous welted coin pockets and concealed yoke pockets provide secure, low-profile storage for modern EDC without disrupting the clean five-pocket silhouette. Carefully spaced belt loops distribute load evenly across the waist, supporting belt-mounted gear without sag or imbalance.
This is selvedge denim stripped of nostalgia and rebuilt for modern use—purposeful, disciplined, and ready to be worn hard.
