Overview
Alchemists sought to refine elements from the natural world, improving function through balance and careful process. The Alchemy collection applies that same discipline to base layers by combining natural fibers, advanced textiles, and considered construction to create a system built for consistent performance across changing environments.
The Alchemy Half Zip is built from Polartec Power Wool, a bi-component knit that places fine merino wool next to the skin for natural temperature regulation and odor control, while a synthetic exterior improves durability, shape retention, and moisture movement. Developed with Polartec and produced domestically, the fabric is engineered so each fiber performs where it is most effective.
Designed as a true foundation layer, the Half Zip regulates heat by retaining warmth when needed and releasing excess heat as conditions or activity levels change. The structured collar holds its shape and provides consistent coverage without feeling restrictive, offering protection when zipped up and comfort when worn open. A deep front zipper allows precise control of airflow during movement and transitions.
Polartec Power Wool
Polartec® Power Wool™ suspends a matrix of fine merino wool in a resilient synthetic base. Highly-absorbent and odor-fighting wool pulls moisture vapor away from your skin, transferring it to the outer synthetic layer where it expands and evaporates faster. This mechanical wicking action allows Polartec® Power Wool™ to keep moisture in motion at all times.
Natural Performance
Wool naturally resists odor, thermal regulates, and manages moisture, all of which make it ideal for use in a base layer. However, wool also has a few negatives: it dries slowly, is prone to shrinkage, and lacks durability. Polartec® Power Wool™ employs a synthetic face yarn to correct for these deficiencies. The end result is a bi-component fabric that does everything well.
Grid Architecture
A highly breathable grid structure moves moisture and provides next-to-skin softness.
Unlike traditional wool fabrics, Polartec® Power Wool™ leverages a bi-component knit technology to provide superior durability, moisture wicking, and shape retention, while maintaining the natural softness, breathability, and thermoregulation of the natural wool fibers.
