Overview

Intended for everyday carry, Contingency’s curved handle and simple sheath conceal well when the need arises. The knife is designed with natural point and edge awareness. In a standard grip, the blade is in line with the thumb. In a reverse grip, the blade is perpendicular to the user’s body.

Note: Winkler products are hand finished. Every scale has been hand contoured, and sculpting is done by hand. Additionally, materials vary a little bit, whether it be due to natural variations in wood, different batches of micarta or G10, or anything else. We take stock photos that are representative of the product you will receive, but due to all the variables we stated, each one is totally unique and may vary a bit.

Due to the nature of custom items, slight variations may occur.

Behind the scenes of Winkler Knives:

In 1975, as part of an effort to authentically outfit himself with the equipment of an 18th century woodsman, Daniel Winkler made his first knife. Fueled by this experience and his intrigue for early American history, Daniel worked diligently for the following decade to become a full-time bladesmith. More than twenty years later, he continues to pull inspiration from frontier America - a time when the equipment a person carried meant sustenance and survival - and successfully builds tools of uncompromising quality that preserve the heritage of utilitarian art.
