Overview
Born from the convergence of ancient Persian blade geometry and modern tactical doctrine, the Windy Raven Erinyes is a fighting knife honed for speed, penetration, and control. Its upswept point and forward-biased balance deliver devastating slashing and puncture capability, while the recurve belly maximizes cutting surface without sacrificing agility in close quarters.
Made from sand blasted Nitro V steel, the Erinyes offers exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance — ideal for prolonged deployment in austere or maritime conditions. Differential heat treatment ensures a tough spine with a razor-fine edge, optimized for combatives.
The grip is steeped in tradition, yet built for battle. A Japanese-style tsukamaki wrap over hardened jute delivers a secure, tactile interface under duress — whether wet, bloody, or gloved. The arched handle profile locks the blade into the palm for thrust-oriented grips and reverse draws.
A minimalist fold over style Kydex sheath with a DCC Mod 2.1 clip provides for robust retention and rapid withdrawal when needed. The Windy Raven and TAD logos are on opposing sides of the blade.

- The well contoured handle is wrapped in a Japanese style cord over jutte, which provides outstanding grip security while still being comfortable.
- The arched handle provides the right angles for effective curving and linear strikes leading with the point, and is equally suitable for either forward or reverse grip.
- The compact Kydex sheath system conceals the Erinyes readily under almost any cover garment. It can be carried inside the waistband on its DDC Mod 2.1 Short Clip, known for robust retention.
- The Nitro V blade has been sandblasted to mute reflection.
Behind the Scenes with Windy Raven Knives
Aaron Buford came to Montana from Alabama due to a love of the mountains and ice climbing. Over the last several years he has been honing his craft of knifemaking, citing the late RW Wilson that helped start his path.
Today, he uses these skills and techniques in his offgrid cabin to create effective and concealable knives.
