Overview
Designed to complete a true expedition layering system, the Vortex Pant exists in the space between movement and rest, equally at home worn beneath protective layers or standing on its own when the day finally loosens its grip.
At its core is Polartec® Power Grid™, an advanced bi-component knit engineered to increase warmth, reduce mass, and accelerate moisture transport. This specific weight of Power Grid is exceptionally versatile - warm enough for cold-weather missions yet breathable enough for high exertion - making it the ideal next-to-skin foundation for cold starts, sustained output, and long hours operating in unpredictable environments.
The fit is slim but intentional. Articulated enough to move naturally under load, yet relaxed enough for wear around camp, the silhouette bridges technical performance and everyday usability. A slightly shortened inseam prevents interference with taller boots and socks, eliminating bunching at key contact points.
Durability is addressed where it matters most. Amphibious nylon knee overlays add abrasion resistance for kneeling, scrambling, and long days on rough ground, extending the life of a piece built for repeated, hard use. Flatlock seam construction minimizes friction during extended wear, while mesh-lined hand pockets provide a practical landing zone for lights, knives, or a phone when outer layers come off.
An encased elastic waistband with an internal drawcord ensures a secure, low-profile fit under shells and harnesses, and a vertical faux fly maintains clean lines without unnecessary bulk.
Made in the USA and purpose-built as the final component of a cohesive expedition baselayer kit, the Vortex Pant delivers adaptable capability across conditions whether layered deep in the system or worn on its own when the pace slows.
