Overview
Casting heritage design into modern legend, the Torque Shirt is as rugged as the generations of men who inspired it - built with the same intent that defined the garments worn by those who relied on their tools, their hands, and their equipment to hold together under sustained use.
A workwear and style icon for over 400 years, chambray shirts have brought character and capability to every frontier. The hard-wearing durability, breathability, and effortless style of chambray took it across the seven seas with the US Navy and throughout the wild west on railroads and horseback.
Inspired by the mechanic shirts of yesteryear, this iteration is cut from a premium black chambray developed as a faithful replica of a discontinued heavy crosshatch fabric originally produced by Tavex, now Evlox. Founded in 1846, Evlox is one of Europe’s oldest denim manufacturers, known for its deep technical heritage and modern approach to durable, responsible fabric production. The pronounced crosshatch weave gives the cloth visual depth and structure, while maintaining the breathability and resilience expected of traditional work shirting.
Construction follows the same philosophy. Double- and triple-needle stitching reinforce high-stress seams, while a double-layer yoke adds strength across the upper back. An inset sleeve placket integrated into the elbow seam reduces bulk and minimizes strain where the garment bends most. A double-slot button throat latch allows the collar to be secured when leaning into the work - or left open when conditions allow. Finished with a clean barrel cuff and streamlined sleeve placket, the Torque remains disciplined and functional throughout.
Built from storied cloth and assembled with methods proven over decades, the Torque Shirt is a modern expression of a garment that has always belonged to those who prepare, repair, and build - long before the road ever begins.
