Overview
These limited edition Iron Rangers from Red Wing come in the unique Alpine Portage colorway. Alpine Portage is archive-inspired by a deep green Kangatan leather first used on Irish Setter Style no. 888 in 1954; a boot built for rugged outdoor trails. Today, Alpine Portage leather offers a quiet, deep mossy green that meets the Iron Rangers iconic utilitarian styling. It’s highly versatile silhouette effortlessly blends the best of fashion and functionality.
Red Wing only had enough Alpine Portage leather to produce a limited number of units and we are extremely honored to be among the exclusive partners able to offer these and, as such, they do not carry TAD markings nor are they TAD Editions. They will however become the official boot of TAD as most of the TAD team are standing by to purchase remaining pairs, if any.
The Iron Ranger was originally built for iron miners in the 1930s. In the decades since, it has grown indispensable for owners from all walks of life thanks to its iconic style and longevity. The six-inch boot’s signature feature is a leather toe cap that is as distinctive as it is durable. Each pair develops a personalized fit and custom comfort over time thanks to leather insoles and a cork midsole that form to feet. The boots are built with a Goodyear welt and Puritan triple-stitch construction, and brass speed hooks provide precision lacing and a visual hit of hardware. The Iron Ranger is anchored with a Vibram® 430 Mini-lug outsole.
