Overview
First commissioned by Britain’s MOD in the early 1970s, the original G10 strap earned its reputation through decades of dependable service on the wrists of soldiers and explorers alike. The Quantum Watch Strap carries that lineage forward for a new generation. Built to honor its utilitarian roots while elevating every element, Quantum blends 21st-century material science with the discipline of American craftsmanship to create a watch strap worthy of the tool watches it secures.
Developed in collaboration with Todd Rexford, one of the world’s most respected custom knife makers, Quantum reflects a shared commitment to precision without compromise. Each buckle and keeper is machined start to finish in Rexford’s Colorado workshop from domestically sourced Ti-6Al-4V titanium, valued for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to wear, corrosion, and fatigue. Each assembly uses 316 stainless steel crossbars and 1.5 mm Allen-head screws, also domestically sourced and built to Rexford’s exacting specifications for precise tolerances, durability and field serviceability.
The double-pass configuration preserves the G10’s proven redundancy, keeping a watch secure in the event of spring bar failure. Its performance webbing, custom-woven by Bally Ribbon Mills in Pennsylvania to TAD’s specifications, is produced on needle looms from 210-denier, single-ply yarn, achieving a breaking strength of 1,600 lbs at 20mm and 1,900 lbs at 22mm. The webbing breaks in with wear, developing a natural flexibility while maintaining the structural integrity to support any timepiece.
Final assembly and stitching take place at TAD’s San Francisco prototyping facility, completing a process entirely American in origin and execution. The Quantum Watch Strap is Made in the USA, crafted for a lifetime of service and the journeys still to come.
Available in 20mm and 22mm widths in Black, OD Green, and for the first time, Gray.
