Overview
Nice Guy Machine Co. has built their company on well thought out and expertly executed designs for the EDC community. This tradition continues with the Side Piece, a precision machined and effortlessly pocketable tool. Archie of NGMCo says “The Side Piece v2.0 represents all facets of what I have learned about carrying and making EDC pry bars”. While this pry bar is only 4.81” inches long, it is eminently capable for everyday prying tasks. The wide and flat profile allow it to go unnoticed in day-to-day carry, whether it be in pocket or in a kit.
The Side Piece is a precision instrument built as a companion to your everyday knife. It should be used in all those instances when you may normally abuse your knife. Milled from solid 6al4v titanium, it offers a dedicated pry tip/nail puller. The machined flat edge of the pry tip is capable of cutting boxes and scraping once pressure is applied and serves as a secondary tool to lengthen the life of your knife’s edge.
Developed with a flat profile to optimize carry, the lanyard hole comes with a small length of utility cord to aid in retrieval while the pocket clip itself is recessed into the tool. Our TAD Edition comes with our signature topo milled into a raised platform on the inside of the pocket. Our Mean Skull and NGMCo logo milled deep on the back side of the tool.

NGMCo. is owned and operated by Archie Ofenstein. He has been a gearhead and EDC enthusiast his entire life. In 2003 he moved to Terlingua, TX to pursue work as an outdoor enthusiast. There I met an entire culture of guides in all facets of outdoor adventure. I quickly learned that guiding on the river would be my path.
Moving forward, he became a craftsman in the fall, winter and spring, saving what seemed like endless summers guiding on the Arkansas river & managing American Adventure Expeditions.
January 23, 2008 he started a YouTube channel and became one of the first EDC reviewers, mostly reviewing folding knives.
His EDC gear enthusiasm has only grown and it finally came to the point where he had to be a maker. All goods with the NGMCo name are designed and crafted by Archie in Colorado, USA.
