Crafted for effortless daily carry and less permissive environments, the Mummert Knives Basan is a remarkably lightweight, corrosion-resistant fixed blade. Renowned for its nearly weightless profile—tipping the scales at approximately 0.35 ounces!—it pairs advanced metallurgy with distinctive, high-grade aesthetics. The Basan is a light duty knife for day to day cutting tasks and its beautiful overall construction lets it pass by in all but the most restrictive of environments. This Elite TAD Edition has our logo on the striking Timascus blade featuring a carbidized edge for enhanced durability and cutting power. The handle is constructed from fire-hardened bamboo, sourced locally and impregnated with beeswax to withstand the elements.The end cap is crafted from Timascus, bearing the maker's mark. Completing this minimalist system is a beautiful custom ray skin sheath equipped with Mummert’s signature STG black topo Ti clip.

- The primary edge is a proper convex chisel grind.
- Edge: To ensure superior cutting power, the edge is deeply carbidized with Tungsten Carbide, achieving an exceptional hardness of RC 72.
- Handle: This edition features charred bamboo, treated with a natural mineral beeswax finish for a secure and resilient grip,finished off with a Timascus end cap.
- Carry System: A custom ray skin belt sheath is included, featuring Mummert’s proprietary titanium clip for versatile and secure attachment.

Mummert Knives believes in crafting tools that are an extension of the user. Founded as a custom knife shop in 2011, all designs are handmade by Marc Mummert in his small shop in southern California. Mummert believes in sourcing all materials from American dealers and supporting local business for cutting and engraving work. Due to his proximity to the ocean he focuses on materials that are durable and able to endure in harsh environments.
