Overview
We are excited to debut our edition of the LumaBlades Machine Custom Series. Jason Luhmer seamlessly blends the best materials, practical design cues and a style all his own. Over the last two years Jason has been building his shop to accommodate manufacturing small batch, high tolerance Mid Techs in house. The Kovert is his first offering under his Machine Custom series and it blurs the line between custom and production.
The Kovert MC is so well thought out it can be trusted to perform regardless of the task and look good doing it. Eminently pocketable at 4.25” closed, the Kovert lives up to its name. Starting with a machine ground swedged drop point, the 3” blade made from blasted AEB-L. Dual thumb studs deploy the drop point riding on Ti Connector ceramic bearings when opening. The blade is held fast by a ceramic detent when closed.
The handle assembly is a beautiful integration of materials and construction. The titanium inset liner lock frame has OD green or Slate Gray G10 overlays with our triple fullers milled deep. The pivot itself is constructed out of stainless, and contrasts with the dark titanium 3D pocket clip.
Finer details include our signature topo pattern laser engraved on the 3D milled pocket clip. Finally, Jason includes our logo, laser engraved at the base of the blade. The LumaBlades Kovert is a reliable daily companion and showpiece of American hand made knives.

Behind the Scenes with LumaBlades
Jason Luhmer comes from a law enforcement background as well as working in the trades. He is an avid outdoorsman. He has always worked with his hands and created things, including building guitars and furniture, and restoring classic cars and motorcycles. Making his first knife opened his eyes to the skills needed to make high quality folding knives, a craft he has relentlessly pursued.
He is dedicated to the creation of 100% American made knives. His drive and determination to achieve the highest quality is taken very seriously. Every knife is sole authorship, made in his shop using only the highest quality materials. From CAD design, to cutting out the blanks, heat treatment to the grinding of the blades and any CNC work that is done. Nothing is outsourced with the exception of Cerakote service. His goal is to provide the customer with a lifetime of satisfaction by owning one of his knives with the assurance that the maker whom they bought from has personally handled every aspect of their manufacture.
