Overview
We are proud to present our first offering from Matthew Christensen, who hit it out of the park with this stunning Stepchild Elite.
The Stepchild design is both robust and flowing at the same time, a testament to Matthew’s skill. The combination of that design,top tier materials and Matthew’s fit and finish, make for a show stopping knife.
The drop point recurve blade has a three quarter swedge and thumb hole opener in stunning Odens Eye Damacore. Robust deployment of the blade is made possible by Skiff bearings. The pivot is a custom JK Designs in blasted titanium with copper beauty rings.
While stout, the heavily contoured liner lock perfectly fits the hand. The vintage blue glass Micarta overlays feature fuller cutouts to reveal the copper underlay below. Finally, the heavily blasted titanium liner lock completes the handle in a striking concert of parts.
Finer details include a copper backspacer, blasted titanium screws by JK Designs and zirconium 3D pocket clip.
Our logo is opposite Christensen Knifeworks at the base of the blade.

Behind the Scenes with Christensen Knifeworks
Matthew Christensen, founder of Christensen Knifeworks (est. 2012 in Steger, IL), has been a knife enthusiast since 2007. Starting with customizing production knives in 2008-2009, he transitioned to fixed blades and friction folders. He now specializes in frame and liner lock folding knives, constantly designing new models from EDC-friendly to full-dress builds and large, overbuilt options. His goal is to provide exceptional customer service and create knives that customers will love, be proud to show off, and use daily, continually improving his craft with the best materials.
