Overview
Ben and Lois Orford are at the forefront of the bushcraft community for a reason. Not only do they have decades of experience crafting tools for the outdoors, they also have a lifetime of experience mastering their use. The Pocket Parang is one of the most versatile field tools we have come across.
With an overall length of 13.5” inches, the Pocket Parang is eminently portable. This Pocket Parang is made from .137” O1 tool steel, renowned for edge holding and toughness. The 7" blade has a curved cutting edge for efficient slicing ability. The overall size makes it suited to carry with you on a walk or fishing trip. The handle is made from polished green canvas Micarta with thin orange G10 liners and has brass pins. It has the addition of a more pronounced finger guard which means that there is a positive grip with no fear of your hand sliding towards the cutting edge even when cold and wet.
The design of the Pocket Parang makes a much more effective cutting tool than carrying a 7" straight camp knife. The ability to clear brush and vegetation and build shelters, as well as fine work like making pot hangers and feather sticks is all possible due to the overall grind being convex with a flat grind near the handle for controlled cuts.
The Pocket Parang comes with a right hand scandi-style smoky brown sheath and green paracord leg tie. This low maintenance sheath has its own natural locking system as well as an extra soft loop strap to lock the blade in place when on the trail. Expertly designed and beautifully crafted, the versatility of the Pocket Parang makes for a reliable companion under any circumstance.
Due to the nature of custom items, slight variations may occur.
