Overview
Ben and Lois Orford are at the forefront of the bushcraft community for a reason. Not only do they have decades of experience crafting tools for the outdoors, they also have a lifetime of experience mastering their use. The Khukuri is one of the most versatile field tools we have come across and we’re excited to offer this exclusive TAD edition.
This new design B&L O1 Khukuri TAD Edition has a textured OD Green G10 handle with orange liners for a great look and great grip, even when wet. G10 is a very tough material which is impervious to the elements and having the blasted texture to the handle makes it very comfortable to use. This version has a comfortable handle that is based on the legendary "Lofty" Wiseman survival knife handle
The blade is made from 3.5mm O1 tool steel which has great edge holding and toughness. This has an acid stonewashed finish and also gives the tool a more rugged appearance. It has the classic convex grind near the front of the blade for chopping and then blends into a scandi edge near the handle for more controlled cuts and it comes razor sharp ready for use. Even though this is a big tool, due to the design it is a very versatile piece of kit and can be used for fine carving tasks as well as heavy clearance of vegetation. Perfectly at home cutting your trail deep in the Amazon or or clearing your backyard.
This is a perfect tool for anyone that wants a workhorse of a blade that will cope with the heaviest use due to the materials used. Ideal for shelter building or working in the woods, it is not too heavy and you will want to carry it with you at all times. It comes in a beautiful right handed sheath in rich brown leather.
Due to the size of these tools they do not come in the presentation box but a nice cotton logo embossed bag.

Behind the scenes with Ben and Lois Orford
Ben has been green woodworking and tool making for over seventeen years now and through his years of experience has gained the skills to provide the woodcraft and bushcraft enthusiast with some very well designed products.Having spent years training with some of the top green woodworkers) and undertaken a cabinet making and furniture design, Ben gained a wide knowledge in both woodwork and tool use.This has given him a remarkable skill base from which to move forward and combine with many other crafts from tool making to blacksmithing, spoon and bowl carving to leather work .Ben has used this fusion of skills to produce a comprehensive range of tools for the outdoor enthusiast.
Lois has been working as a full time green woodworker and leather worker for over eight years now and had been studying the craft on a part time basis for over twelve.With her skills and underlying love of craft she makes excellent leather products, all handmade with care and attention to detail. Lois helped develop the Craft Labs range of bushcraft leather work. For every tool or knife that Ben makes, Lois custom makes the leather sheath.
